i was looking at old photos and i wanted to show you how our story went, a little
bronwyn and i met at age 12 but i dont have any photos from then, really, but this is from grade 9 science class when we were being goofs and i was 13
this is from our first ever sleepover, we couldn’t stop laughing and we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor and we went to boston pizza and got plastic rings that we both still have (bronwyn kept hers on a necklace after that)
i went to bronwyn’s cottage for the first time in the summer after grade 9
we had our first kiss in grade 10 when i was 14 and were in a weird kind of dating limbo period
then i moved to the states and turned 15 and told bronwyn i was in love with her and we visited every chance we could and she sent me flowers and packages
then i went to junior prom with her and bronwyn cut her hair
then we had the most beautiful summer where i spent 5 weeks at her cottage and i cut my hair
then i went back to miami for 12th grade and turned 16 and bronwyn was 17 and we went to senior prom together
then i moved back to canada for university when i was turning 17 and we finally lived in the same place again and we loved each other so much and got breakfast together every day
then after a beautiful summer we started living together when i was 18 and bronwyn was 19 and we went to bahrain together and bronwyn dyed her hair brown and now i get to see her every morning and every night and we adventure in our city and have a coffee shop and love each other more than i could have thought. there were periods of scary intense darkness but we love each other so much and i’ve never been happier. i’ve known bronwyn since i was 12 and now i’m almost 19 and i love her more and more.
i’m never on here anymore, but i wanted to share that almost a month ago bronwyn and i got engaged!! under a beautiful tree on a perfect day and for the rest of my life i get to pursue her and care for her and make her laugh. i’ve said this so many times but now more than ever: if this is all i get, it’s so much more than i could have hoped for.

I have, on occasion, found myself in the position of being a celebrity handler.
By which I mean, I have been the person sitting next to the celebrities helping them out at conventions. I’ve done it every so often for around ten years now.
It’s a fun job/thing to do for sure, you get to see the wonderful and often times very funny and heartwarming interactions between celebrities and their fans. Often times I get the privilege of being the one to take the pictures of said celebrities and their fans (and I always get the flattering angles- ALWAYS).
Unfortunately I have also been witness to some absolutely terrifying breaches of etiquette and have learned to identify the big red flags that mark a ‘fan’ as potential ‘threat’ (even if it’s just a threat to their own safety). It’s an unfortunate fact that it just happens.
I could write books on how to stand out to a celebrity or how to just not be a dick…
That having been said- if you see your favorite celebrity somewhere where they are not intentionally on display for you (Is: if they are not at a premier or a convention that permits it) ALWAYS ask them before taking a picture. Don’t get pictures of them in transit, eating or running errands unless you are willing to approach them and ask for one.
Don’t use the flash on your camera without permission. This is a big deal as a lot of people I have worked for get pretty severe migraines from multiple flashes throughout the day. It’s just polite.
If they say no, respect it. Seriously. Just thank them for their time and be on your way. There is no sneaky way to get a picture, and chances are you are only making yourself stand out a jerk if you try to. Remember, they have people try to sneak pictures every single day- they know what to look for.
Above all else remember: they are people and they deserve respect. You are not entitled to their attention or their consent in any regard and treating them like a regular person/ respecting their wishes goes a lot further than you think.
You don’t want to be remembered by your idol for being a rude, selfish jerk do you?
And even if the celebrity doesn’t remember how rude you were, you bet your ass that their handlers and security will and they we will remind them.
Thought: I do NOT think that 50% of the world’s billionaires should be women. I think there shouldn’t be any billionaires at all.

Yes.
Why shouldn’t their be billionaires? That makes no sense.
Because the existence of billionaires is predicated on the exploitation of human labor and unsustainable environmental harm. That level of wealth hoarding is harmful to economies, as it reduces the amount of money in circulation. No one person, no family, could ever conceivably even SPEND a billion dollars anyway, and it is inherently immoral to accumulate wealth so narrowly while so much of the world lives in abject poverty.
Better then to create a wealth ceiling, a point at which all wealth over a certain point is taxed at or very near 100% to incentivize people to actually spend their money rather than hoard it, stimulating the economy and bettering the lives of far more people. Better even still to create and regulate economic systems that protect workers and the environment in a way that such extreme levels of wealth accumulation aren’t even feasible.
The problem with this is that it reduces the incentive to actually do fiscally well. What’s the point of starting a business if you can’t become wealthy?
There is a very real difference between “reasonably wealthy” and A BILLIONAIRE
No one is saying you shouldn’t have a nice house, we are saying that having multiple really, really ridiculously nice houses while your employees are either homeless or at serious risk of becoming homeless is immoral.
I’ll never understand why this concept is hard for people. I think it’s because they can’t actually fathom how much $1 Billion is.
Seriously.
Let’s say you have a badass job. A great job. You make $100 AN HOUR. You work 10 hours a day ($1000 A DAY), 5 days a week ($5000 a week!!!), every week ($20,000 A MONTH), thats $240,000 Every Year.
It would take you 4,167 years to make a billion dollars.
God dammit
I don’t think ppl realize that the oldest “millenials” are like 30+ now. We know what vhs tapes and CDs are. If you mean teenagers, say teenagers.
im 21 and grew up with vhs and cds. literally you’d have to be under 18 to not know about them.
And even then, most kids under 18 know what they are because they typically had a VCR kickin around to watch disney or old movies on.
most ppl used their VHS/VCR until around 2005-2007 so you literally have to be 15ish and under to have never used one and 10ish and under to have never seen/heard of one.

Also why do people get judged for not knowing obsolete formats? Like they’re not idiots it’s just not a media format in use anymore, things change, time moves forward. chill out and leave kids alone.
Also, just because a format is obsolete doesn’t mean people don’t know about it. I’ve never sent a telegram but I know what the hell morse code is

tips for surviving this mess (artists ESPECIALLY) :
Export your blog content. If you can reach the site through its desktop version, click the person icon from your dash, click the name of a blog you have you want to export, select “Edit Appearance”. Scroll down and click “export (blog name)”. You will receive a .zip file. If anything ridiculous happens and you aren’t able to secure your account again, you at least should have your image files in one place. You will find in this folder the following (copied from the support article provided by tumblr staff themselves) :
- A Posts folder, with an HTML file for each post.
- A Media folder, with the media from your posts, plus any media you’ve uploaded (like in messaging). These files will be in the format you uploaded them in (JPG, GIF, PNG, MP4, and so on).
- A representation of your blog’s messaging conversations, in XML format.
- A representation of your blog’s posts, also in XML format.
If your blog truly is NSFW, or has a significant portion of NSFW content, flag it properly. You can do this from the same page as the Export function ; read the above to do reach this page.
Stop your queue from posting while things are wild. You’ll be drowned out by users helping each other with this glitchfest, and that’s if your post isn’t hidden from users due to links. Use the edit post function to move queued posts into your drafts, and reverse this process when you’re ready to put them back. This is important for art bloggers especially.
If your blog is flagged and taken down, you can e-mail staff or reach them from their contact links. www tumblr com /support - replacing spaces with dots. Several tumblr users who have gone through the process will know better than I do on this particular matter.
Keep an eye on your side blogs. It seems some takedowns are bringing side blogs down with them. There isn’t a great amount of information on the whys or hows - most likely, if a side blog has only one admin and the admin is taken down, the side blog will be taken down with it, but again, these are restorable. Make sure to include the name of any sideblogs you have that may be affected if you have to send a ticket in to staff, it will make your request go through faster.
If you have important information to impart to your followers but it involves links, do your best to avoid using links themselves. Use work-arounds like the one above, create a custom page on your own blog with links on it, or simply phrase it carefully, such as, “you can find me on DeviantArt with the username ____!”
Are you an artist with active commissions? Let your clients know. Send them a message letting them know that you may be unavailable if Tumblr makes your account glitch out. Explain that it will be temporary, but if they need anything, they can reach you through e-mail or on another website. If you don’t have off-site options, tell them you may be down temporarily, but will be back as soon as possible.
